Playtest


It’s been a few days since I had the time to post an update. Last Thursday, we held our first playtest: Session Zero.

So far, we've uncovered a few errors—mostly on my part—particularly with human-scale equipment. I’ll need to create a complete list, since each character may require different weapons, and we want to reskin them all for simplicity. I’m planning to include AEGIS weapons in that pass as well.

The group followed the baseline structure for a Session Zero and chose to pursue a story inspired by Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. I had them draw their original homes on the map, and each of them did a small roleplay segment there before being transferred, sold, employed—or worse—to the company operating on what they call Mars Aeon, the first major planet after Terra Aeon. It’s a simple pattern, but an effective one.

I made sure all of them had their AEGIS as tools at first—except for my most experienced player, who created a Scientist-Doctor character that cultivates mushrooms. He smuggled a fungus sample from his original colony, and now he’s growing his AEGIS over an old frame while working as the lead terraforming researcher for the company at the base.

I could go on forever, but the important thing is: it's working. The vibe is great, and I can’t wait for the next session.
